    Wisdom teeth

    Hey people!!!

Basically i have a problem i have had braces on for 14 months and would be getting surgery soon to fix my overbite and it would be on the public system so it wouldnt cost me anything. But my surgeon wants to get my wisdom teeth out first before jaw surgery, and its going to cost way too much than i can afford. I live in australia and have not been able to find a cheaper way to solve this.

Im not sure what to do???

Anyone got any advice that would be great!!!

Find out if it is an option to have them out at the same time of your surgery under the public system.

I can't think of any other ways to have your wisdom teeth extracted other than dental insurance...

I am having mine extracted out soon as well! Yikes! I was informed by my oral surgeon that they want the wisdom teeth extracted at least 6 month prior to orthognathic surgery. They will not extract it during the jaw surgery. Too bad.

Extract the wisdome tooth. It will cost you but it will solve the problem. Find a good dentist or better yet a dentist that you already know so you can get a discount.

I'm in Australia too, though I'm not sure where in AUstralia you are. I'm in Melbourne. I had to get all 4 of mine out, but I wasn't fulled covered for a surgical removal. I got my teeth taken out at the dentist's office, and I was awake! For all 4 it was around 900, health fund covered about 2/3 of it.
