I had surgery over 2 years ago with the nhs, to widen my upper jaw. That was ok but I was on a children's ward so they let loads of people visit all the time which can make a difference.

I have my second procedure in July 2011, orthognatic surgery, yay(!) I'm a bit nervous too, I even had a pre-op assessment today which was scary, as it really hit home how much they are going to do.

But seriously, they're great. If you are in pain, tell them and they will give you the medication. They let you ask questions and tell you what's what. I have a stack of leaflets from them about the ward I'll be on, how to deal with pain, the specific procedure I'm having and all sorts. They do take care of you.
