Live in Ireland wondering if any dentists do these braces. I live in the midlands so pretty central and could go to many orthodontists.
I also have a few questions
1. Do these take longer than conventional braces??
2. Do these cost more??
3. Are they at all noticeable??
4. Are they as effective??
5. What are they like when you're kissing a girl??

I have no idea about lingual braces in Ireland Yesno, but not as many orthodontist's offer them, due to them being more difficult to manage than conventional braces. Ring around and ask the offices you speak to.
Your questions ...
1 - There is not reason for them to take longer, as long as you follow your ortho's instructions etc.
2 - Often they do cost more. This can be for a variety of reasons. The ortho I work with, who uses ibraces, has them made specially to fit the back of each tooth of the patient, and that costs more. Plus some ortho's may charge due to there being extra work involved with working with them. This is a question you need to ask when making your phone calls.
3 - They are the only 'invisable' form of orthodontic treatment.
4 - Yes ... when comparing them to brackets attached to the labial side of the teeth.
5 - I've never kissed anyone with lingual braces, but I imagine if the person you're kissing uses their tongue to explore the inside of your mouth ... they may get a surprise ... but hopefully it won't be a negative one! Kissing for the person with lingual brackets ... I'd not expect there to be too much impact.
Good luck with your search!![]()
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
