    Hi and welcome jaycarr!

Ibraces do appear to be the most invisible of all current orthodontic treatments. Sometimes the person will have a slight speech change, but mostly that's minor and would not indicate the person was having orthodontic treatment.

If you need to wear elastics, they may be obvious, so you'd need to ask the ortho you choose to treat you about whether you'll have any additional things in your mouth during your treatment.

    Good luck with your research!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

Hi jaycarr27 what is your reasoning doing ibraces on top and ceramic at the bottom? I have ibraces on top and bottom arch nobody knows i have braces unless I tell them about it, even i have ties on two of my teeth. ties are colorless and not very noticeable. If you are going for completely hidden braces ibraces is the way to go. if you have a simple case invisalign will work too and will be easier to fit adult lifestyle.

Jaycarr the mix of ibraces and ceramics is a popular mix and often recommended/chosen due to concerns for the tongue in the lower arch. Have you talked to an orthodontist or two or three, to hear what they recommend, or are prepared to treat you with?

I have mild crowding for my bottom teeth and have ibraces both top and bottom. My tongue sits on the brackets just fine. The first two weeks was really painful during meals but otherwise ok. i think even if the braces is on the outside the cheek will hurt in a similar way. It everyone's welcome to braces gift. I was able to overcome the first two weeks of pain without wax or gishi goo.

I have ibraces on top and my ortho will be putting clear ceramic lower braces on the bottom. I, too, was concerned with having my tongue cut. I read 0stories on another blog, and not only that but I don't feel they will be noticeable on the bottom.
