Hi all, I just joined the community.
I am wearing lingual braces (Incognito) since more than a year now and I am coming to the end of the treatment soon. I just want to ask the ones that already finished the tretment, cause I am scared of it- how do the braces get removed? I am afraid cause I have sensitive teeth that had a few interventions before for some dental decays (the front teeth from the upper). How are the braces removed? I am afraid that the doctor will force them until they unglue. Is this the procedure? I already read some reviews where people got a broken tooth from removing braces, and my teeth are already thin. Any of you got a lingual removed? Please I need some answers regarding this, I am scared already![]()
hi susanna. welcome to the forum
as far as I know the ibraces are removed the same way as traditional... I will warn you that if you have senstive teeth, that the tool they use to remove the glue can cause a little bit of discomfort... for me it was near the gum line on a couple of my upper teeth...but that was on the front of the tooth....
I have read that it is a good idea to buy some orajel type product that relieves senstivity and put it on your gums and such before your appointment.. that should make your gums numb enough not to notice any senstivity.
I really wouldn't sweat it though.. it is a very easy procedure and they come off very quickly!
Any before and after pictures? I would love to see the braces behind the tooth.
thank you, mikeg!
I don't have a photo before, only my doctor has, I think she will give me some at the end of the treatment.
Did you have a traditional one or lingual one? I am afraid that when she will use that tool to remove it, she will remove the braces together eith 3/4 of my teeth. It is very very very glued, how can it be removed with a tool? the doctor doesn't use a solution to make the glue melt or something? as it is very glued, I am afraid that 3/4 of my tooth will break, as I have interventions on the for tooth caries, as I said

I had lingual uppers and let me assure you that their removal was painless, very quick and left my teeth intact.
If you're nervous about it, I suggest you pop a painkiller before you go in to have them removed.
the fact is that I bare the pain, I passed through worse things, so not the pain kills me, but the fear to not have a teeth broken in two. I read some bad experiences like this.... And my teeth were taped up(I don't know how it's called in English, for caries) and that's why I'm afraid...
For the vast majority, debonding is a painless procedure - lingual or otherwise. My lingual brackets popped off easily, I felt no pain or pressure, and none of my teeth broke.
Please chill out and try to stop worrying about this. Your brackets have to come off some time.
thank you all. yes, I think I should calm down a bit. I can't wait to take them off and have my teeth free but you know, it's like giving birth(not that I gave birth, but from what I saw)- everyone can't wait to see the baby born but when the day comes the panic kills you.
