Will lingual braces fix my overbite??

Just wondering if lingual braces would be suitable.. I have visited one clinic (they dont do linguals there) and doc told me that I will have to wear damon braces plus orthodontic implants..but I found out that in my town another clinic where they do offer linguals and even price is good (3200euro for both jaws somewher lese 7000€) but it was me who suggested linguals, Iam not sure if this doc has any expierience with them..Anyway Is anybody hear who fixed overbite similar to mine (think its called vertical overbite) with linguals???

Pipip where I work bite problems are corrected by our ortho who uses linguals. He has additional training to the other two ortho's who don't use them, so you will need to check with the ortho's you consult with, if they're trained to use lingual brackets.

If you're concerned about the 'look' ... then I recommend that once you find the right ortho, ask what types of brackets they use ... remembering that brackets don't move teeth ... it takes an ortho with skill to do that, using archwires etc ... anyway ... ask what brackets they use and if they don't offer linguals, they may have a ceramic bracket that will help you feel better about how they 'look'.

Good luck finding an ortho to treat your bite ... this is your first job ... the rest then becomes a lot easier.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

The ortho should have some letters after her/his name in their advertisement ... this might be in the telephone advertising, online advertising and/or on site advertising. Google these and you'll find what they mean.

'Letter' qualifications are not the only qualifications. Ask about experience with cases like yours etc. If an ortho recommends a type of bracket ... then you need to consider if this is due to lack of experience, or due to the company that markets that bracket funding them. If it's the latter, it's not really an issue, but you'll need to ask appropriate questions and consult with more orthodontist's to work that one out.

    Good luck!

    Hi Pipip,
I found my lingual orthodontist on the ibraces website. I hope this helps. Good luck!
