2nd day in Ibraces..my experience

So i got my ibraces put on the top yesterday, will have clear regular braces put on bottom in a few weeks. I thought id share my experience thus far. Im 19 years old so i wanted to go with the ibraces cause im vein..sadly. I got them put on yesterday and there was no pain for the first few hours. about 5 or so hours later i had some pain, it felt like a ton of pressure on all my teeth..which i imagine you would feel with regular or lingual braces. As far as my tongue goes i was expecting some severe damage from what ive heard. I have had no discomfort at all with my tongue, and ive been licking and flicking them with my tongue since i got them put on. My speech is noticable..but its only the 2nd day. I will add that many people are saying you have a "lisp" with the ibraces..from my experience its much more of a slur. I slur my "s" and sometimes the "th" sound. Other than that i am eating only liquids cause my damn teeth have so much pressure. If i dont post any more of these from here on out then i guess you can assume everything is going fine. Ibraces are pretty cool so far, there low key and i forget im wearing them..until i talk.

Sounds like you've got a great attitude and that will surely help!

JMP,

As of tomorrow i Will have had them on for exactly 2 weeks and my speech is about 85% back to normal. My speech was very bad for about 7 to 8 days & then out of no where there was drastic improvement. When i first got them on i thought there for sure was not a chance i would be able to say my "s" normally while in treatment, but now 2 weeks in and about 4 out of 5 times i say a word with and S it comes out fine. I have been out with friends and even to a family christmas event & no one has said anything about my speech. I have no pain and i am very used to the metal already, not to mention i saw movement in a few of of teeth within the first 2 days. Seems too good to be true
