Smile 19 and a candidate for invisible braces - positive feedback wanted

Hi! I'm 19 years old. I previously had braces for three years and had them removed when I was 16. I have been unhappy with my teeth since I had the braces removed and I have become increasingly self-conscious. I thought that I would have to stay with this smile forever, but recently when looking into treatment again, I was very pleased to hear about the braces behind the teeth.

At this point, after giving invisalign as well as the invisible braces a lot of thought, invisalign seems to be incredibly inconvenient for me. I attend college away from home and along with not being able to drink coffee all day long, I would be much happier to have something more permanent.

I've been reading feedback about the braces on here and I am very happy with the positive reactions people are having. I am prepared for the speech problems and awkwardness and pain of having them at the beginning, but it's been a comfort hearing positive thoughts.

So I would just like to ask for more good reactions from people that have them on now or have had them. Anyone wearing them in college or my age. I will hopefully be getting them at the beginning of the summer, giving me about three months before returning to school, I'm hoping that will be enough time to fully adjust, is that possible?

I'd really just like any positive feedback to make myself more confident in this decision.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi bliss,

I am one of the first Incognito (iBraces) certified orthodontists in the USA. I have a lot of experience with them as well as Invisalign and various types of conventional braces. Although Invisalign is great for some cases (with excellent cooperation), it is not for every case or every person as you indicated. I can tell you that without a doubt the Incognito braces on the back of the teeth are awesome and no one will see them. But beware all lingual braces are not the same. Incognito has some special technology built into them that make them work so well. I have had nothing but good results and reactions from my patients. If you go to the website Incognito :: The Secret Behind a Beautiful Smile you can do a search for a doctor in your area.

    Good luck.

    Hi,

I have been using lingual braces for 4 months now. I am using ibraces, and after the initial adjustment to the lingual braces I am very happy. However, I would have chosen invisalign braces if I could. I went to 2 orthodontists that told me I could not use invisalign for my case, and that I had to use regular braces. Faced with that diagnosis, I chose the linguals over regular braces.

I never used invisalign, but oh boy, how I wish I could take these off sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I a happy with my decision, lingual braces are great, they are not the nightmare that some people picture and you get used to them just like regular braces, and I am sure invisalgn has its problems too. In the end it is a very personal decision... Good Luck!

    Fantastic

I have been in my ibraces/incognito braces since October and I love them. At first I was really nervous about spending such a large amount of money and hearing all the complaints about them. Thank goodness that I didn't take too much of what I read to heart. They are fantastic! Most of my friends don't even know that I am wearing them and they are not as uncomfortable as everyone says. I had both arches put on on the same day with both wires. It took me about a week to get adjusted to speaking and stat eating things other than soups, ice cream, pudding and mashed potatoes. Hamburgers are still hard to eat but other than that, I have no complaints. My teeth have moved so much that you would be amazed.

Just take lots of Tylenol, not Advil, after yours are put on. You will be fine!

I say...Go For IT!!! I think you will be happy that you did!
