Ibraces for 9 months so far..

I am 23 years old and i got ibraces last july on my upper and lower teeth. I didnt have any teeth removed, my teeth where just crooked and i have an overbite. Heres what i have experienced so far..

Lets just say when i first got them on.. i was amazed that you couldnt see them, ive wanted braces for so long but when i was younger my parents couldnt afford them and when i got older i was in no way wanting regular braces. So it was defiantly a miracle option for me and i was impressed.

so once i got them on of coarse there is going to be some adjusting, at first i used wax maybe for the first 2 weeks and i noticed more saliva being produced, i felt like i had a lisp but my friends and family didnt really notice and i think i was just being self conscious or it was just a very sight lisp that i adapted to quickly.

after the first month i got use to them, i started eating more of what i want, i dont use wax at all anymore, i had a few brackets get unglued but i feel that that was my fault just by not being careful and eating the obvious things they tell you not to eat like laffy taffy. opps. but really my foods arent that limited and i have learned what i can tolerate and what i cant.

Some people have noticed i have ibraces on, only on the bottom row but i have had them on for almost 10 months and i say maybe a total of 5 close friend/family know about my ibraces. I make a point not to tell people because i want to see if they really can tell or not.

i feel like on this site ibraces get more bad reviews, but honestly if you want straight teeth without showing metal especially if your an adult you will make the small scarifies that comes with ibraces. Overall i have had a good experience. Its so far what i expected. My teeth have been changing and i like seeing the results. The ortho said i am about half way through treatment and i cant wait to see the final outcome.

Fantastic to read how well it's going for you!

I think the reason there appears to be more negatives written so far on this forum, is that people often only write when they have concerns ... so your post is great to read!

Good luck with your treatment continuing to go so smoothly!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
