Hi all,
I thought a brief update might help some folks out there.
I've had them for 6 and 5 months on top and bottom respectively. Wednesday this week, I got new wires on top AND bottom. Wow! My teeth were pretty sensitive the following day, but Friday was good again. Progress has been amazing, really stunning. To give you an idea, if I stopped today, I'd be pretty happy with the looks!! And it will get much much better the ortho said. Wow!
Is it easy? Certainly not; you have to pay continuous attention to speaking, eating, cleaning, the appointments, etc. Some people on this forum complained about unbearable pain. I have not experienced that at all. Except, the wire poking in my tongue is really unbearable, but that can be easily taken care of. The numb feeling in the beginning or with a new wire can be relieved with a pain killer too.
A good preparation goes a long way I think. A few words about speaking... My speaking is very close to normal. People that do not know me, certainly don't notice. In my experience, only when I'm tired or dehydrated is my speaking affected.
All in all, I'm extremely happing with this product.
Have a good one,
