Hello,
I am planning on getting lingual braces (or ibraces) - still waiting to meet with the ortho for the final decision on which.
But my problem is that in addition to other issues, I have my canine teeth (they are very pointy too!) towards the FRONT of my mouth, which essentially makes me look somewhat like a vampire and this alone has led me to not smile ever in public for the past several years.
Obviously, only veneers (lumineers I'm thinking), will take care of this issue and the orthodontics won't. and I REALLY want to have these done now, before the ortho (rather than wait for 2 years until the orthodontics work are done).
I am hoping that the ortho work will still be possible once i get lumineers.
Has anyone done this? gotten both simultaneously? please help. I am really hoping there's a way. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim
This is something to discuss with any ortho's you consult with so that you can decide together what will be the best long term approach.
Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
the other thing to keep in mind too is that your teeth will look different as a whole once they are straight. i had prominent canines before braces too. I'd still like to get them filed down a bit but it's already a huge improvement from before.
