    Gap?

Has anyone experienced a gap between teeth during lingual treatment? I have a newly acquired space in the upper part between my two front teeth but the bottom of the teeth still touch. It looks kinda bad and is driving me a little nuts. Any advice or solutions??

I can't comment on movement with lingual braces (as of yet) but everyone says your teeth get worse before they get better with braces not just linguals. They won't just move straight to where you want them / should be. Takes time & teeth move at different rates & gaps will start to show as they move & the length of the teeth can look different to the tooth next to it etc. etc.

Hope this eases your mind a little.

Yes, I had this happen and the gap was closed later on. Discuss with your ortho if you're concerned.

ugh, i can't speak to this problem specifically BUT...my top teeth have always been caved in (they bend into kind of a W shape rather than the U that teeth are supposed to curve out to) and since braces I've noticed they seem more caved in. Every single time I go to the ortho they're like "wow, these front teeth look worse than before, how should we fix it??" Well guess what, if they don't know I sure as hell don't either, haha!

But I agree, all we ever hear beforehand is that braces will make such an improvement, but it's a bit of a relief to know that I'm not the only one whose teeth seem worse than ever since getting them. I hope your new gap works itself out soon, I know the last thing any of us want is to feel like we just made everything worse by trying to fix things! Good luck.
