I heard that it is not uncommon for an ortho to take your linguals off and put on traditional braces for a few weeks/months at the end of your treatment in order to get your teeth perfectly aligned. How common is this? Any information anyone can give to me on this matter? I dont believe my teeth are a difficult case (just minor crowding) so im wondering what the chances are that this will happen to me.

Also, just out of curiousity Im wondering if there are any speech problems AFTER you get your linguals removed? It seems that getting used to speaking with them on for 18 months may affect how you speak when there off (at least for a week or two) ?
