ibraces expander jaw

I saw an orth and he says I need jaw surgury for my crossbite and a palatal
Expander he said he could do ibraces and maybe invisalign. My truth teeth slight overlap and I have a high canine tooth I was wonder if the expander will cause a major spread or gap that will be there for a long time since I won't have the braces on. My ortho said my treatment could take two and a half years I am nervous about all this and its costing me way over ten thousand so I'd like some help it be appriciated anything do expect from expander and anyone ever have this ibraces and an expander and surgury before ? Thanks a lot for ur help!!!

Did the ortho explain why you needed surgery? Is it just to facilitate expansion of the upper jaw? If that is the case you may want to find someone who will do it non-surgically since the upper jaw can usually be expanded even in an adult non-surgically. Best of luck.
