    Linguals vs Traditional

Hey all. New here, so I apologize if this has been discussed.

Is there any literature that examines the effectiveness of lingual versus traditional braces? In short, if I put these braces behind my teeth can I expect the same results as traditional braces?

For those who have used lingual braces: is the time of treatment longer? Was it worth it?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I was advised by my ortho that most cases could be treated as well with linguals as they could with regular braces. He also said that treatment time would be the same irrespective.

Was it worth it? To me, yes.

    Yes and no.

It's important to find an orthodontist how is trained in the use of lingual brackets, as they do require different skills.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
