a little over 1 months into ibraces...teeth getting worse?

Ive had my ibraces for a month + week now. They are definitely quite difficult to get used to. The bottom went on first and i was good after about a week. the top took two weeks to adjust to and was definitely more painful and difficult w/ speech, but now everything is fine! I was so discouraged after getting the top ones on. i could barely even close my mouth bc of the way they were all positioned in there....but things have been gradually changing and now my bite is seeming to line up much better. i can bite down and chew normal food!

i do have a concern though...although my bottom teeth are starting to look really straight...whatever is going on with the moving on top is making my teeth look worse i have really crowded teeth and a bit of an overbite and the two teeth on either side of my front teeth are kid of hidden. it highlights my front teeth and makes them look even bigger! like some kind of freak rabbit lol. having the braces has made them even more prominent and pushed forward and my side teeth are moving back further. one of my side teeth wasn't that bad to begin with and now its looking like the other one. Do you think this is normal or is something going wrong? i have my first adjustment appointment in two weeks so ive been trying to hold off on asking. now my ortho is closed for the weekend so im reaching out to you guys. have any of you had a similar experience?

Great your treatment is underway and you've adjusted well to having ibraces. It's quite common for teeth to 'get worse before they get better'. Sometimes teeth have to move certain ways to allow for future movement, and this may be what's happening to your teeth at the moment.

If this is really bothering you, give your ortho a call and explain what is bothering you.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
