    Eating with ibraces?

Well today was the day. I just had my ibraces put in, both upper and lower. So far my speech doesn't seem too bad, however it is just the first day, so we'll see how that turns out. When I tried to eat, that's where it felt very weird since the bottom brackets were in the area where I'd normally be chewing my food. How quickly have people gotten used to eating with ibraces? What are some advices people have?

    Hi
I've had my ibraces on for 4 days now. I've been eating things that are almost "pre-chewed". for example, chili and oatmeal.
I find bread really easy to mash up and swallow, so things like humus and guacamole are easy too. I did cut up my spegheti like a child the other night...it worked!
I can't bite into anything yet, but imagine i will be able to soon.
my brother suggested protein shakes, but i can't stomach them.
It feels weird and takes longer. be patient and take small bites!

Food wise, go with fish and chicken in the short term. Anything casseroled will be good; like curry it tenderises meat, chicken, etc. You will be able to return to a regular diet within a short period of time.
