Bottom teeth hitting off braces (glue fallen off)

    Hi,

I had my incognito braces fitted about 16 hours ago. I seem relatively lucky - only slightly sore teeth, nothing major and my speech seems ok. Only got them on my top teeth.

However, chewing is causing me to freak out just a little (slight panic attacks!) I couldn't even eat pasta this eve and I wouldn't mind if it was b/c of pain, as I know that would get beter over time, it is just a physical impossibility as my teeth are not meeting.

    I have a question though....

My ortho put glue on my bottom teeth to stop them banging into my braces. This made me have less of a bite. Anyway the glue 'fell' off (after a few prods from me - I know it was naughty but I was desperate)....and now I'm a bit worried. It only made my bite a little better (still couldn't eat) and I'm worried I'm going to damage my braces....Anybody know anything about this?

Also if someone could calm me down and persuade me that I will be able to eat soon that would be great. There are alot of positive people on here saying 2 months in and I'm starting to be able to eat soft foods. That scares me!!! I'm only supposed to have them on for 6 months - and I love food! I knew I would have to avoid toffees etc, but never dreamed eating would be this hard. I know I'm only a few hours in, but as I say, I've no pain - it's just the lack of being able to bite.

sorry I rambled, it's good to get it off my chest!!! In short should I panic about the glue not being on my bottom teeth? and please tell me I can eat soon thanks

I have had my braces on for 3 months. By the 3rd or 4th day I was eating pretty normally. After a week I was eating everything that I ate before braces the only difference being that I wouldn't and still won't just bite into a big burger, I will break off small pieces and eat it. The only things I avoid are really sticky things or super crunchy things like apples or carrots. Don't worry it will get better quickly I don't even realize I have them on most of the time. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement Trako - it's good to hear good stories. I'm normally quite positive - but coming on here made me think everyone was eating mashed potato!

Anyone any ideas about the glue? I feel a bit guilty about ripping it off, but I really couldn't handle it.
