Getting ibraces on top and ceramic on bottom

Getting braces in a couple days and I'm just wondering what to expect, how long will it take for them to be put on, what can I eat, will my speech be affected? Thank you!

Don't know about iBraces (I think mine were incognito), but it took one and a half hours to get the uppers on (the ceramics came 8 weeks later).

Everyone is different, but for me the first 2 weeks were the worst. My tongue felt like it had been cut up by the braces and anything spicy or lemony really hurt to eat. After that it was much better. The only thing I found with speech was that I had to work really hard at pronouncing the "s" sound and if I was dehydrated, the lisp seemed more pronounced. So, drinking lots of water really does help.

I ate everything I'd eaten before, but was a bit circumspect about biting into certain foods e.g. apples, corn, carrots.
