    Hi,

    When I had my quad helix put in my bite became really messed up and it's changed quite a few times in the weeks I have had it in, so I would say it's normal and if you feel you're bite is changing then you must be having movement!

    Eating at first for me was a nightmare. In the begnning I had just upper braces for 3 months, then suddenly I had my lowers put on, elastics AND a quad helix - and it got to the point where I would get tearful throuh frustration. I can now eat pretty normally, although the food getting stuck under the expander cannot be totally avoided. I have definitely gotten more used to it though, but don't think I will ever be able to feel I am 100% ok with it.

    My tongue is really sore at the moment, too. I will have a couple of days where it will clear up and feel fine, then bam my tongue is real sore again. I go back on the 4th April to check my quad helix, I hope my Ortho says it can come out, although I have a big feeling I will need it in a bit longer. I also just had an impacted lower wisdom tooth removed, my mouth is going through so much.

    I wish I could offer you some advice about something to relieve your sore tongue, but I am really at a loss what to do to help my tongue... I think I need something to numb it!

Hi....

So i have had my braces on now for almost a month or so and given that i am still getting use to them, i wanted to get some feed back on this topic i go back on july 11th for my first adjustment and i will say that i am 30 years old with braces but hey what can i do about that... so today marks 1 week in braces but something is weird on one of my top tooth there is a small space in which i have never had before !!!! so is this right i mean its only been a week and are all my teeth going to have spaces

Hi guys!

Well Well I am on my 3rd day in braces with still my expander in!! not happy at all my mouth is killing me and I am soooooo hungry.. I know this sounds crazy but I am so scared that when I am able to eat again that I am going to take off a bracket or something.. also brushing and flossing has been a nightmare for me it’s taken forever!! Would you suggest that I do get a electric toothbrush and anything else you think is a MUST NEED please let me know! I will post pics soon

Morning!

So went to the ortho yesterday to get the progress of the expander, and after all the wishes, it has done its JOB... Great right, well sorta i really didnt expect to hear YOU WILL GET BRACES MONDAY 5/23... oh no i really thought that i would get another couple weeks with the expander so didnt expect braces sooo soon i guess........ NOW i am REALLY freaking out!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning All,

Well i go to the ortho today to check the progress of the expander doing its job i really hope to hear something good cause last time i went there had been no progress at all wasnt happy at all.... I must say though that my top teeth are loose and i am having nightmares that they fall so that has been keeping me up at night...
