Hi Emma, I really like them and it is an easy decision if they are not too much more pricey than metal ones... Mine are still as clear as the day I got them. I have been using mouthwash quite a bit and a Waterpik to keep everything really clean. My ortho said I can change out the bands if they start to turn yellowish anytime.... The ceramic brackets themselves do not stain, it is the bands that hold the wire in. Good luck, I look forward to reading yoru blog
