I went to the orthodontist today. I'm on the highest wires on both top and bottom. Finally! That should mean I'm close to being done....right? Haha! No, I still have quite a ways to go, I think.
I did talk him into letting me have elastics. People say that's the last step, and I'm ready to be done!
I've only had braces since June, so about 8 months. Needless to say, the newness of my braces has definitely worn off.
Hopefully, getting rubber bands (elastics) early will help

Anyways, I've had my braces on since July 10th. So I've had them on for a total of a month and 21 days.
My next appointment is September 10th. I'm hoping they'll make a decision on when to put on my bottom braces. I'm not looking forward to my bottom teeth being sore. I've heard that the pain is worse than the top. Oh well, the sooner I get them on, the sooner I get them off!

So the pain from my new braces is finally gone! I can chew with all of my teeth now, and it makes me pretty happy. I'm finally comfortable smiling in front of people with them on, and they don't feel foreign in my mouth anymore.
Some people say that they can already see some changes, but others say they can't. Oh well, it'll happen soon. I'm trying to be pretty optimistic about this new experience.
8 days down: 1 year
I got my top braces on yesterday. I was a bit nervous, but it went really well.
They told me that my mouth would be sore for a few days, but not to "baby" my teeth. So the first thing I did was eat a hamburger and chew on some gum.
This morning, I woke up and they are pretty sore. I feel like if I were to touch them, they'd fall out. Now, it's definitely hard not to baby them and eat soft foods.

I finally got the call! I'm getting my braces on next Tuesday at 9am. I'm pretty stoked, but my little sister says that it won't last very long because I'll be begging to get them off within a couple of months.
BUUUT I'm excited :D. They're only putting the top ones on for now. The orthodontist said I will be able to get the bottoms within about three months.
