I finally got my Ceramic Braces on my top 12/23/09. Christmas Eve was a horror! I was in so much pain, more then when I got my bottoms put on. I wasn't able to eat, sleep, or think! I've been taking Advil pretty much every 4 hrs without much help.

I tried to get some pasta down, thinking that would be good, nope, not even that was soft enough to get down. So, all I had was apple sauce, and plenty of water.

So for the past two weeks I've been experiencing jaw pain. I've notice more and more the past few days that the pain is getting worse. Now, is this normal? I don't know. My next appointment with my Orthodontist is later this month, so I guess I have to wait until then. But, in the mean time I've been doing some jaw stretches in hopes it will relieve some of the pain.

Now, my question, is anyone else having or has had this problem? And, what did you do about it?

It's really funny and embarrassing when you get caught "tonguing" your braces in public after a meal.

Hi my name is Jaime, I am 27 years old. For years I have always wanted to "fix" my smile. I have a very big overbite along with a little crowding. I had my consultation back in July, and my orthodontist went over our treatment plan. I will be in braces for about 18-24 months. I will start with metal braces on my lower, and have to wear a bite plate on the top. I will have to wear the bite plate for a few months before I can start with my ceramic on top.
