The Final Battle....

After talking to two people that I know are level-headed and don't tend to react irrationally, I went into Dr. Lehman's office with a plan. My husband went with me.

So my plan was that I was going to give him two options, he could either give me a full refund and be rid of me. Or, I could walk out with the check he had ready for me, file a complaint against him with the Alabama Board of Dentists, file a lawsuit, write a letter to the editor and...

When I went for my second adjustment, at the beginning of August, I again told Dr. Lehman about all the problems I had been having; reminding him that I'd spent June in physical therapy where they dismissed me becuase they couldn't help me and now my only attempt at relief was a daily trip to the chiropractor, and that the chiropracter had hit on the idea that it might be a problem in my TMJ joint. At this point he said that if it was that bad the only thing we could do was take the braces off....

It all started at the end of May when I had my spacers put in by Dr. David Lehman in Huntsville AL. During the 2 weeks I had the spacers I had headaches off and on including a 4 day straight period. Not just a headache, but a migraine.

TMJ seems to be fairly unknown by a lot of people. Before you get braces, or have braces put on your kid, do some research on TMJ problems and find an orthodontist who understands TMJ, just in case. Also, if you are an adult, find an orthodontist who specializes in adults (or at least has a pretty even blend of patients) if you can. They are more likely to listen to what you have to say instead of just blowing you off as he might the complaints of a kid.
