I am not in pain to the point where I need medication, I am definitely feeling the pressure from this latest adjustment. At least this is my excuse for eating soft / comfort food.

The rubber band going across the front teeth feels weird but I am sure I will get used to that soon enough. Thankfully, I am only wearing it at nights.

I went in today and had a power chain put on the bottom (again) from the bottom left 4 tooth to the right left 7 tooth.

The ortho feels that my teeth are in position as far as the bite so I am getting a partial reprieve from wearing the rubber bands in the day and will wear one at night from the bottom left 4 tooth to the upper right 3 tooth.

I am certain he did some maneuvering of the top wire (i.e. bending) as I feel a bit of pressure. I feel more pressure on...

I went in for my adjustment today and my ortho says he is very pleased with my progress. I know I am pleased because my midline discrepancy is resolved (or so it seems) and my bite is coming along quite well.

Both top and bottom power chains were removed at this appointment and the top arch wire was changed to a thicker/stronger arch wire. I am still wearing the Sea Lion rubber bands from the top left 3 to the bottom left 6 and top right 6 to bottom right 3.

My...

Sorry I have been MIA (all due to the holidays).

My last adjustment was actually done on Wednesday, December 23. The ortho changed the top power chain to one that "opens" and put a power chain on the bottom teeth. The rubber bands remain the same strength (sea lion). Of course, I have no idea what the terminology means - I just do what the experts tell me to do.

Well, by reading my blog so far, you probably realized that I have been very lucky as far as...

I just had my adjustment and the wires and power chain will remain the same but I graduated to stronger rubber bands (Seal). At least today I don't feel the kind of pressure I felt 6 weeks ago. I do feel the pressure from the rubber bands being a bit stronger since I skipped the medium strength bands.

Before I went in to see my ortho today, I felt as though the brackets on my upper left molars were shoved into my gums so at least I know there is movement going on. I had to put...
