I haven't been keeping up with my blog on here but I had my 6th ortho appt today. He made a lot of changes and I left feeling very optimistic and excited about my treatment.
The wires stayed the same but he put in a coil to close make the gap where my implant will go the correct size. He removed the TAD which was very exciting because that was a pain to keep clean. He put some wires to hold my bottom front teeth in place in a crisscross pattern (not sure what this is called) and finally
I had my third adjustment today and I wasn't as hopeful as I was last time. I didn't have to go in to get my wires shortened so I felt like my teeth hadn't made very much progress. I did notice that one of front teeth moved and is more in line with the rest so I did feel like there was some small progress there. I felt like all the progress was being made on my top teeth but no changes were happening to my bottom teeth.

Hi everyone! Today I had my second adjustment. I got some thicker wires and my turbos were removed! yay! I remember when I first got them on, I was convinced I would never eat again. And now, 3 months later, they are off. I feel a little pressure from the new wires, but I don't think it will be as bad as when I first got braces.
I was very encouraged to see progress and I think these wires will create even more progress. My ortho said I would probably have to come in before my next
Hi Everyone! I haven't posted anything in a while, but it seems as though everything is going well. I have my first adjustment next week (8 week appt) and I am getting nervous. On one hand, time has gone by very quickly and I can't believe it's almost been 2 months since I got my braces. On the other hand, I am dreading the pain I felt for the first week and the inability to eat real food. At least I have a frame of reference this time, and know that it will not last forever

So here I am about one month in after getting my braces on. I have to say it has gone by pretty quickly and I hope the rest of my treatment goes by this way. I must admit I am still self conscious about my braces, especially when I have to laugh or talk to strangers. They make me look much younger than I am, and since I already had a young appearance, I feel like I look like I am in high school. On a positive note, it has definitely helped me control my eating portions and I feel much healthier.
