Angry Chipped teeth!!!!

Hi everyone, i'm new to this craic so here goes!! I have my braces in 9 weeks now on bottom teeth only, simply to correct one crooked tooth!! I don't know what type of brace it is!! I have metal brackets with 4 clear brackets on the visable front 4 teeth with a single metal wire connecting through them all.

My main problem is that i'm thinking of giving up on the whole process as i think my teeth are getting more crooked than they were to start with. Also i seem to be grinding my teeth every nite in my sleep on the metal brackets as i cannot close my teeth together at all even at the back and it's all because of this brace

Because i am grinding my teeth i can see that my healthy teeth are chipping slightly more and more at the front with each nites sleep.

Can anyone help me out there????? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

sometimes they will shift and appear more crooked, but they need to do that to come together properly. my sister had the same issue, it actually cause 2 of her bottom teeth to stick out.. but after a few more adjustments she was good to go and in 8 months her bottom teeth were very straight...

If you are grinding your teeth at night, it may be because your teeth are moving.. i highly recommend you get a mouth guard to sleep with, becuase it can get painful later on...
