Wow! How is that possible. Are you still on your parents insurance? Are the braces cheaper in your state? I will have my braces on by the middle of January and the wait time is killing me and I have to pay $3800 and wear them for 24 months if not longer. I just had my moldings done and that will take two weeks to come back.

yeah i'm still on their insurance. the braces initially cost $4800 but since my orthodontist participates in my insurance (Delta Dental), Delta says that the braces should only cost $3700 not $4800. then my insurance covers $1500 so they cost $2200! I'm very happy because if they were more my parents wouldn't be able to afford them. Braces are typically not cheaper in my state since I live in NY but it's because my insurance is really good. But the thing is I've waited almost 6 years to get braces because our old insurance never covered it before. do you really have to wait 2 weeks for your molds? I don't have to wait at all. i'm getting my moldings and braces put on the same day.

congrats! I've had mine on since March 2006. My teeth are 100% better, but my ortho wants to hold me there a bit longer since they moved so fast. Then I'll have the retainer 24/7 for a while.

Yeah....I thought my process was going to be complete by Dec. 21st but since he wanted to take my moldings and send them to a specialist to get the "perfect" fit of my braces, that takes two weeks. I have appointments set up from now until the middle of January. Every week I will be going back for something (next week get my spacers). How bad are your teeth? I know mine are bad b/c I sucked my thumb for years and my parents never had the money to pay for them (even when I was on their insurance). So now I am taking matters into my own hands.
This is going to be a long two years

well my 2 front teeth are the problem. my front left tooth is crooked and there's a gap between them. also they are longer than they should be. i just want that fixed and i want my upper and lower teeth to be aligned perfectly. i just want perfect teeth!

It's well known that without cost, there's often a lack of respect. So to those who pay for there treatment, there's a good chance they'll do everything as requested and follow after treatment care.
