Great things have started for you Smiley!
My treatment started at age 47 and I'm also paying for my treatment. My ortho is doing a great job, as my teeth are not happy with the idea of moving and putting up 'stops' at every opportunity. This means my progress has been slower than expected, but in return I know the roots of my teeth are excellent (they're long and strong) and best of all ... I continue to have progress! Great you don't feel any pain or pressure, as I've been like that for 2 1/2 years. My ortho told me this wasn't a painful process for most people ... just bad advertising from years ago ... but I still found that hard to believe. Fortunately for me ... he was spot on the truth! All the best for getting the rest of your work starting in two weeks time. Take great care of your mouth! |

Hello Sunny,
Why did you wait so long to get braced? if you don't mind my asking

Smiley I never had spacers, as my ortho puts buccal molar brackets on the molars instead of bands, so I can't relate to the spacers.
Food ... I ate soft food for a few days, but I enjoy food too long to remain like that. I found that I could chew using my molars, and within a week I was back to eating as I've always done. This hasn't changed, and I eat as I did pre braces. Quote:
In 2005 I went to a new dentist (after another interstate move) and he was very concerned when he was checking my mouth to replace a filling that had fallen out. He recommended I see an ortho asap and I did. The guy I saw was amazing ... his attitude was so caring and I felt very comfortable with him. ... and the rest is history! Here's to your eating improving and day 3 onwards being good days! |
