I have had an initial consultation for Invisalign, with a Dentist specialising in this & implants.
She is not an Orthodontist - does this really matter?
I went to an orthodontist; they are trained for this. ~shrug~
I would also suggest a second opinion, regardless. It'll give you a better idea of whether it will work for you, and give you a better idea if one of them is overcharging, etc.
Hopefully it won't matter, as long as you check that the dentist is a certified trained provider of invisalign. Make sure you ask how many cases she has treated, any like your's and to see before and after photos.
I agree with Punkin, that you really should consult with more than one person, and including an orthodontist in this consultation process is a good idea. Orthodontic treatment cost considerable money and time and is an investment in the future of your teeth and bite (jaw joints etc). This type of investment does deserve to be checked out thoroughly before a committment is made.
