I am so excited that I found this bulletin board.

I am 30something - female.

I have inquired about getting Braces recently meaning have been to a consultation and I am a good candidate for invislign......however, the cost is astronomical something like $5,900 vs metal braces at $5,400 (however, if I pay in full the cost for both the cost will be reduced by 5% which is NOT that great of a reduction for paying in full. However, I guess it is something.

I am curious to know if anyone thinks these prices are overpriced and if it possible to negotiate the price.

Note: I live outside of Washington, DC in Maryland

Thanking you in advance for your responses.

Great you are planning to treat yourself to a better bite AKA!

I have no idea of the cost of orthodontic treatment in your area, but notice that you've been quoted about an extra $1,000 Australian (I did a currency conversion) dollars, but that may still mean the cost is fine in your area.

It's always recommended to have several consults, and this helps you get an idea of what others recommend for your treatment and cost.

Good luck with getting your treatment started.

Check with a few other ortho's in the area, but depending on the treatment involved (time wise), that sounds about right. I paid about $5,800 for my Invisalign (fortunately, though, we've got some ortho coverage on our insurance, so out of pocket is only going to be about $2200).

But, your best bet is to check with a few other orthos in the area and see what kind of price they can offer. While cost shouldn't be the deciding factor in choosing who to go with, it can give you an idea if someone is way overcharging.
