Hi I'm new - timing question

Hi all. I'm 40, and I had braces as a teenager (too bad they didn't tell us back in the 1980's that retainers are for life!). I'm waiting for my invisalign trays to arrive. I had my impressions taken on February 12th and I was wondering if you remember how long it took for your trays to arrive after you had your impressions. The customer service woman at my ortho's office told me it would be three months or more, but the technician who took my impressions told me it would be the beginning of April, which would be less than two months. I hope she's right - I'm dying to get started.

Congratulations on starting your treatment!
Unfortunately, I don't have Invisalign.

Great you're starting treatment again Christine.

I suspect the time frame will depend on who your orthodontist is dealing with and the speed with which they work. We usually have the first sets of aligners for new patients within four weeks, but sometimes it can be six weeks if they're very busy.

If you find yourself getting impatient, remind yourself that ortho treatment is about being patient and that this is a good way to learn about this process again.

I think my ortho told me 6 to 8 weeks. She did say the timing isn't definite, just like anything in life - if they are busy, it'll take longer.

My trays actually arrived before I was ready for them (I had teeth removed).
