    Hey, I'm new here :)

Hello, I'm Millie, I'm 14 years old and am going to get braces soon

At the moment I'm waiting for a letter confirming the date of an operation I have to get done. I've got two impacted upper canines which they're attaching chains to in order to (hopefully) bring down into place, an upper molar surgically extracted and a bottom pre molar taken out.

I'm really excited about getting the op. done, and getting braces, because really each step is one closer to having even half decent teeth. I hate my teeth at the moment, and can't wait to be able to smile with them showing. I have my first two incisors, which are wonky and have a pound coin gap between them, then second incisors which are tiny (my orthodontist thought they were milk teeth at first glance) and need to be built up, then on the right hand side I have two gaps, a tooth, then another gap, and on the left just one gap.

Then my bottom teeth are all really wonky at the bottom, and I'm missing both of the bottom adult molars (my dad has missing teeth too). There will always be a gap (or bridges I think the orthodontist said) on one side. This is because I had a tooth taken out from there when I was little, so the bone has deteriorated and teeth can't move along it.

So, yeah. That's the basic outline of my teeth hahah. I've just come on this forum really to get advice from other people, and hopefully find other people who've had things that I'm having done and can say what it's like.

Welcome Millie. Great age to get braces on. I recommend you keep a blog here, we can help you and offer you advice along the way... I like to go to the orthodonist knowing what is going on, rather than just doing it blindly

    Hi and welcome Millie!

Great that you're having orthodontic treatment while you're so young and here's to everything working out well for you and you soon having the smile you long for.

Good luck with your impacted canine teeth! Here's to them moving into place without any issues!
