    Welcome, Tontage!

Sounds like we are on the same time frame. I just turned 43 last week, and I started my Invisalign at the beginning of January - 12U/7L. I am in the sunny Midwest, however...

Here's hoping we both can be in retainers by early or mid-summer!

No coffee for me, no snacks, but BIG meals! It has been more of a lifestyle change for me than anything, but I am grateful to finally be taking care of this.

Sounds like Invisalign might take care of everything for you! Good luck, and I'll be interested to continue to hear how everything is going.

i have 4 attachments on top and 3 on the bottom.those were put on the same day i recieved my 1st set of trays.because my lower teeth are crowded, they did the IPR thingy,i had no idea my ortho was doing this,i rememebr seeing all kinds of crud flying (sorry to be gross) but i had quite a few teeth altered on the bottom to make room.my experience with the trays has been very good.only thing i have noticed is that when i switch to a new set of trays,my teeth are very tender for a few days and after that they are fine.on my last set of trays i remmebr when i removed the top tray on the 1st day to eat lunch it felt as though one of my front teeth wanted to pull out.must have been the way that particular tray was made.

    Hi and welcome Tontage!

Great that invisalign is working so well for you and will hopefully mean you don't need any lumineers in the future.

This is a great forum and I hope you find it a friendly and helpful place to visit!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

IPR is done with all types of orthodontic treatment, where the person needs space, but doesn't need the space that would be made if a tooth or teeth were removed.

This has been a brilliant 'step forward', and the main reason that extractions aren't needed so often now.

The invisalign system finds it more challenging to close gaps, so it's great for the use with invisalign. Experienced invisalign ortho's can close gaps, but many don't have this experience.

I've had IPR done a few times on the bottom and also between my front upper incisors. It's quick, pain free and the gap closes with speed.
