Smile Hi everybody! I'm a newbie!!!

I Just wanted to drop a quick 'hello' to all. I just got my Invisalign yesterday. The total treatment is 21u/21L. (2 weeks per tray) Yesterday I felt horrible; felt like I made a mistake. I was uncomfortable and annoying. But today I feel little better. I'm sure many of you felt the same.

I know it'll take a while to adjust....but I eat about 6 times a day. I'm not sure how I'll manage brushing that many times a day. I've bitten my lips and cheeks number of times. I'm guessing that too is normal for beginner?

I'm so glad I found this forum. I'm looking forward to find a lot of useful information here.

Hi newbie, so am I, but on my third set of aligners. I am a constant brusher as well, not sure how I am going to manage as I am travelling overseas for a month, which will be a challenge. I am getting a little more used to them but find I tend to grind my back teeth on the aligners a bit which makes my jaw ache.
I too am glad to find the forum, great to hear how others are doing, and get some encouragement!

    Good luck to you both!

It's great you're doing this for yourselves and I'm sure things will go well.

When we have patients who are travelling, we often recommend they wear there aligner for longer, in case they don't get the recommended 22 hours a day done. By wearing the aligner for an extra week, the teeth aren't at risk of having their roots damaged due to being forced into a new aligner sooner than they're ready for.

Hopefully with practise you'll find that cleaning does get easier. Remember to brush gently and take care of both your gums and the enamel on your teeth.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

I'm new. I've had my braces now for 4 days. I'm still trying to get to used to them and think I'm doing ok. I'll have to wear mine for 2 years and jaw surgery will be done around the mid-point. BTW, I'm 28 and I'm doing this for my own self confidence.
