CLEARSTEP anyone?? and Hello to all! x

Hi all! so glad I found this forum! been browsing around all afternoon and just registered!
I'm a 36 year old female, and I just had my Clearstep consultation yesterday...Xray's, Photo's, moulds etc....not pleasant! felt like my jaw was going to be broken from all the stretching & pulling! and I thought my lips were going to tear!! but got to be done! I went to my local practice back in january for a routine filling and questioned my dentist about getting braces back then as I have never been happy with the way I look and had been thinking about getting something done for a really long time. Most of you will probably relate to this on here, but if I laugh I put my hand over my mouth and never have a big toothy grin in photo's I'm a happy, giggly person and I want to smile and laugh without being shy!
Will try to get some photo's on here at some point...my teeth are pretty bad ( I think)...quite an overbite with my front right tooth sticking out/slightly rotated in front of the other. My bottom teeth look quite over crowded with both incisors jutting forwards and rotated...they are going to take some moving I think! so I'm now waiting for the clearstep people to take a look at everything and find out how long it will take to get my perfect smile and how much it will cost me!!! my consultation was £150 yesterday.
I see alot of invisalign on these sites and I browse youtube video's for braces blogs which are really good and informative, nice to see the changes in peoples teeth!...but hardly any of them are patients having Clearstep treatment?? I'm not sure what the difference between the two is?? I know Invisalign is american & Clearstep is British....but thats about it!
My dental practice is 5 min walk from my house which is very convenient for me...and Clearstep is all that is on offer there...which is fine by me...from what I have read online..you can get brilliant results with Clearstep and it is less expensive than Invisalign. It would be good to hear from someone that has/is using this system.
Looking forward to making new friends here!
    Kerry x

    Welcome, Kerry!

I can't help you with Clearstep, as I know nothing about that system! However, there are so many wonderful people on this forum, and you are sure to get the kind of support you need as you move forward in treatment.

    Good luck, and SMILE!

Hi and welcome to this forum and good luck with you soon having a smile you'll be proud to show off!

I don't know much about Clearstep, although I think when it was being advertised it was along the lines that it can do everything that invisalign can and more. Obviously this was a marketing company trying to get us to listen ... but I'm sure if you've found someone to treat you that you trust it should all be good.

I look forward to learning more about this type of orthodontics as your treatment progresses.

    Good luck!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
