    Hello Everyone! I Can't Wait!

    Hello everyone!

My name is Liz, I'm 25 and from NY.

I will be getting ceramic braces on very soon - hopefully by the end of August! I've been working toward braces for over a year now; I had a lot of dental work that needed to get done before I could get braces on, and it was very expensive (not having dental insurance), so I had to space things out to make things more affordable.

I have crowded teeth (see photo below) and have needed braces since I was a kid, but my parents couldn't afford them. By the time they could, I was already in college, so it was the worst possible timing, and I declined them. I've been looking forward to straightening my teeth for a veryyyyy long time, and am looking forward to sharing the journey with you guys! (so much good information on the forums!)

Also, If anyone cares to follow it, I have been keeping a blog of my dental work: My Metal Mouth I need to find a way to post to the blog here without having to double post everything. Any suggestions?

    -Liz

I got my ceramics on Mon. and, though they're only on the top, I love them. I also had to get a lot of dental work done before I could get mine....14 fillings to be exact. I'll be so happy once I get my smile fixed. Oh and there's actually a blog section on here that's pretty good.

    Good luck with your journey!
    Jenn

    Hi an welcome Liz!

It's great that you've saved to have your treatment and here's to it all going wonderfully!

The best thing to do to keep a blog here, is to post a short summary with a link to your main blog.

All the best with your preparation!

Jen - I think I had 9 fillings? I'd have to look back and count them up to be sure, but I don't want to think about it! LOL How noticeable are the ceramics? I've been scouring the forums for pictures!

    Sunny - That's a great idea, thanks!

I don't think they're that noticeable. Mine have little silver clips on them so they're not totally clear. However, most people who have seen me since I got them, think I've had my braces taken off until they see the bottom ones. I kinda like that. Oh and so far, they're not staining.

lileepers ceramic brackets can be seen if a person is up close to you and looking at your mouth, apart from that they're barely noticable. We notice them mostly because we're having treatment, but most people don't notice any type of braces basically due to them not being interested.

It's great you had your dental work sorted and are now ready to go to that next step.

    Good luck!
