Is this forums for purely braces only?
Actually I'm a candidate for Orthognathic surgery.
    Already done with pre-surgery ortho.
    I'm a Class 3 (Prognathic Jaw) Case.
So. yeah I wonder whether somebody can help or anyone here who have had orthognathic surgery or at least a candidate, we can share ideas.

    Welcome Bobby!

There is probably someone who is on here who is knowlegable about orthognathic surgery or you can see if there is a topic on it.

Good luck on your surgery and your braces journey

Hi and welcome to this forum Bobby!

I'm sure you'll find people on this site who will have some knowledge of what lies ahead for you.

I have a class III, but surgery wasn't an option for me. My ortho has nearly completed an outstanding job on my bite. It doesn't look as great as many, but my bite feels fantastic and that's what makes this so worth while!
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!

    AW! Bless you!
Lucky, maybe your case wasn't that severe that braces alone can fix your bite and profile xD

My class III was only mild, and appeared as an edge to edge bite until my lowers were straightened. It's the usual 'upper jaw smaller than the lower jaw' sympton of class III. My ortho told me when we met that my bite and teeth would never look like any great smiles, but that he could 'fix' my bite so that my current jaw pain would be improved, plus my impacted canine sorted. Unfortunatley my impacted canine refused to move and my ortho then redesigned my treatment and the long journey to having my premolars and molars brought forward to close the gap began. Surgery would have taken years off my treatment, but it was never an option for me.

I wish you every success with your surgery and look forward to following your story!

Lucky you! I'm not happy to undergo this surgery but i don't have any other choice. Even if its possible to correct my bite my orthodontist told that my prominent chin and profile will stay the same. It sucks arse!

    Thank you so much.
Still researching about everything about it.
