    Question Welcome to Noobville :clapping:

    Hey ,
Who here can tell me something useful? I'm getting pretty frustrated, because I have been told I have a Impacted eye tooth.
The adult one is practially horizontal. They said that I will definatly need braces, but they weren't very descriptive about anything. My brother cracked up when I told him. Not 10 minutes later his dentist came out saying he needed all 4 of his wisdom teeth taken out next month. Thats what he gets for laughing. Please respond.

Impacted canine teeth are non uncommon and a person does need braces to get this sorted. The gap needs to be made the right size for the adult tooth to be brought into. A small surgery is required to cut a flap of skin from the area where the tooth is now lying. Usually a metal button is bonded to the impacted tooth and one end of a chain is attached to that tooth and the other end to the archwire, where it runs over the gap. Next, at your appointments, your orthodontist will shorten the chain, so that it's gently moving the impacted tooth to where it needs to be. Once enough of the tooth is visable through the gum, the button is removed and a bracket placed on the tooth.

Good luck to you and your brother.
After 5 years, 11 months and two days of stainless steel brackets ... my teeth now have upper and lower bonded, gold wire, retainers and removable clear retainers!
