Was mostly a lurker all summer, but now wearing Damons.

Yup, 44 and sporting braces. I found an ortho who is very cool and does a lot of adult braces. He told me about the Damon Clears and how I would not need extractions and the reasonable treatment time (20 mos give or take) and I went for it.

My dental covers nothing, so it hurts my wallet as much as my mouth, but my dentist told me for the last few years, if I do not get braces, my lowers would keep moving forward slowely and cause me much bigger problems, so it seemed like I should just do it.

At least the new brackets are small, hard to see and fairly comfortable. My biggest challenge is adapting to molar buildup so I can chew food.

Congratulations on getting braced! Very exciting indeed. I am 38 with moderate crowding, cross bite, overbite and will be in Damon 3 braces for approx 3 years, i choose silver instead of the clear, i am very excited to get them as well as the results. Same here, no insurance coverage at all, but i am going to call them once they are installed. In a year ( next september ) I will be booked for Jaw surgery to correct my overbite.
