Hi all,

I just got invisalign put on yesterday and am already freaking out. For instance, I have several buttons on my teeth (including one on my front left tooth) PLUS elastics, and I think they're very noticeable. I'm really nervous, because I have a date with this girl tomorrow and I'm afraid it's going to just mess things up. Let alone, what about the end-of-night kiss? I suppose I could take out the elastics for that, but I'm just feeling embarrassed and sick to my stomach and I haven't even met this girl yet...=/.

Second major concern is how effective the treatment will actually be. My ortho put in the invisalign, buttons and elastics for an underbite/crossbite (not a MAJOR one, though). Anyone have background on how effective this is?

Lastly, I'm now finding out about a retainer that must be worn at the end of the treatment? And that you must wear it FOREVER? Can anyone divulge on this??

Sorry, just feel like kind of a nervous wreck. I'm afraid to even smile because of how I look, and I'm not normally a self-conscious guy.
