Wow, that's weird.. "almond spammer"? What is that? lol
Hello,
I had traditional braces as a teenager, then a horse stepped on my retainer, then my wisdom teeth came in and re-crowded my jaw, so here I am at almost 50 years old with a mouth full of metal Damon braces. (and an elastic to correct a cross bite)
I had them put on the 14th of this month (yes, just five days ago) only a week after having my wisdom teeth extracted.
It's been "fun" to try and eat.
I've been surviving on mashed potatoes & gravy, refried beans/rice and pasta with bits of mashed up meatballs.
Last night I got tired of the can of Almond Roca taunting me and I put a few pieces of that in my food processor because I know hard toffee won't be able to be chewed for the next two years. (oddly enough, I left another board and came here because the moderator removed one of my posts and the replies to it after I spelled out the word Roca R-O-C-A after the forum automatically changed it to "Almond Spammer" - Seriously, it's candy folks... it's funny when you know what kind of candy it is. I decided that there is a big difference between good moderation and being a control freak, so I wished them "good day" and moved on.
The really weird thing for me, is that ever since my wisdom teeth were removed my molars don't touch. It feels super weird to not have a bit. I'm sure this will resolve its self soon enough.
So here is my starting point the day I got my braces on... I'm hoping to see lots of improvement; it already feels like they're moving...

it was super crazy, the rules were a bit much too...
you could not post any identifying information or you'd be banned, if you posted a link to your blog that had any identifying information it would be removed. (the admin is deathly afraid of braces fetish sites. Uh hello... I'm an adult and can be responsible for my own safety thank you very much.
She absolutely flipped out on me when I said, "Hey, this doesn't work for me, please delete my account (there was no way to do it that I could find)
She argued and argued (big difference between good moderation and being a control freak) and then instead of deleting my account, just banned me, so I still get notices of people commenting on my posts.
UGH.
All I wanted was to talk to other adults who were dealing with braces...
Looks like yours are fairly new as well.
How long did it take before you could chew? This not being able to chew thing is starting to get me down.
