Yep... Ive had mine for a month and still have trouble.
3 weeks in and i still cant chew. i nearly choked while eating pasta and i cant bite on anything without slashing my cheeks in all directions

The Crime: Protruding upper canine, upper and lower crowding.

First day with brackets: 12/05/2011. 4 Extractions: 12/12/11. 1st Adjustment: 01/04/12. 2nd Adjustment: 2/15/12 Pulling the canine down. 3rd Adjustment 3/28/12 (canine's in the wire, and pulled into position!). 4th adjustment: 5/16/2012 (closing the gaps!)
I had speghetti last night and it was awful... I couldnt slurp the noodles and they got stuck ontop of my brackets. I think ill stick with ravioli or lasagna from now on... Lol

Awww hang in there. Don't you have any wax to put on your brackets? I never used it, but I've heard it helps with the rubbing on the inside of your cheek thing. Try eating more mashed up food (eg potato) or using painkillers or something. It gets better, trust me!
Yeah dude, all I ate was Greek yogurt for the first little while. Even chewing a slice of (untoasted!) bread was nearly impossible at the beginning. Chin up, and get some Advil up in there!

Hang in there your cheeks will toughen up or at least you wont notice it anymore. I had my braces for 5 months now and it does get better. I carry my toothbrush and wax all the time in my purse.
