Going insane

Hi .. i would never have thought in a million years i would be writing in a blog for braces but ..here i am ..desperate , a lil insane in pain and discomfort.. I'm on day 6 yea...This things are not for adults..at least not functioning ones like me. and there should be a pre counseling before braces.. At 4pm Ive have noticed my insanity starts.. i read its something to do with a drop of cortison (at least the braces have lead me to read much about stuff i probably would not have ).. anyone out there just got braces? i'm in Sunny Nairobi :-)

Hello, I have had my braces for 6 1/2 months and I am an adult and trust me it does get better. Now I only have discomfort for a couple days after an adjustment. Hang in there think about how beautiful your teeth will be when they come off. Before I had my braces put on i did have a consultation with the ortho for an hour and it was good to know what to expect.

I too am nearing 7mos as an adult and the first few weeks were pretty rough. Like mudmonster said above, it gets easier. TONS easier! And as funny and "off" as it sounds right now to you, in a few months you won't even notice them. I had jaw surgery, extractions, fillings, deep cleaning and root planning AND a full set of braces in one afternoon. I had it BAD, and yet I never (and still have never) taken one single pill for pain. If they're hurting, they're moving, and when they're moving, you're that much closer to a perfect smile!
