    Finally pulled the triger ...

    So hi :D

It was a tough decision (to put on the braces or not at the age of 25), family couldnt effort it when i was young, but now i work and i can afford it but i was afraid that it would mess up my looks, ... untill it hit me! .. screw my looks :D .. I am working with computers, i look nerdish already so how much worse a full metal braces would add to that equation! so i DID IT!! lol

I selected the smartclip SL3 metalic brackets, honestly i expected that i would look much worse, but its not hat bad!

so yeah, I am on day one now, .. hour one to be exact, no pain, just small annoyance (first time I have a metal in the mouth yakh), doctor told me that the pain will hit in the evening, and it will probably stay for 10 days or so and thats normal.. I hope the pain isnt that bad, ..

any tips for a braces noob?

    cheers

Welcome! Good for you for making that tough decision. In a couple hours you will feel excruciating pain, so prepare yourself. Don't eat any hard foods, only ice cream, mashed potatoes, soup, etc. GL!

    Hello and welcome code!
Yep, things will get worst before they get better... but don't get too scared about the pain, as it varies form person to person. I didn't feel that much pain at all - the worst was the first night and second day, then it just went away. Beside the tooth pain, you may also get headaches and feel like your ears are popping all the time.
I think the worst part is getting used to eating with half your plate getting stuck in you braces... it's like your storing up food for winter. And getting used to spending hours brushing your teeth. It seems like it takes forever, and it does.
Good luck with everything, everyone here will tell you is worth it.

Excruciating pain?! There's absolutely no "excruciating pain". Sure it's a little sore, but that's only when you chew. Who ever told you there's excruciating pain is very wrong
