Smile Getting an Implant!

So I spoke with my dentist today and he decided to remove my impacted canine #11 as well as my upper #5 tooth. All this is because my #11 tooth is so far impacted that it can't be brought down, and my midline has started to shift so that needs to be corrected now. Once the two teeth are removed they are hoping to re-align my upper teeth so that my midline goes back to normal, and then put in an implant!! My dentist informed me that this is a very long slow process so I'm a little bummed about that! I wanted to post this so that if anyone else has gone through this or is going through this we can share stories... I get the two teeth removed on the 14th of this month!!

Great you can have an implant punkchk11! That's a far better outcome than I've been able to have, due to the risk of removing my impacted canine being too high.

It might be slow, but you're doing this for a reason, and I'm sure you'd not be satisfied until you get the best possible result. Canine teeth are needed to guide your bite and I've had severe jaw pain due to my bite sliding for many decades. I'd never considered orthodontic treatment to straighten my teeth, close gaps etc ... this is about trying to decrease the pain level I've been living with. Improvement with my bite will be a plus!

All the best with your extractions next week!
