I am 20 years old and have a 3/4" overbite. I had braces when I was about 13and my orthodontist told me that corrective jaw surgery would be necessary. I refused and turned down the operation. It wasn't until about a couple months ago that I began regretting turning down the surgery. So I made another appointment with my orthodontist and he still tells me the same thing. I was all for it until the preparation began. 4 days I ago I had my wisdom teeth extracted and 4 bicuspids removed. Now I have changed my mind again and don't want to have the surgery done. I am completely positive this time. Is there anything else they can do to fix this problem.....especially now that I am missing the 4 bicuspid teeth? I was wondering if I could just have braces and the elastics to pull my bottom jaw forward. Either way I really don't want to have the jaw surgery done......I just need to know if there is anything else I could possibly do so this doesn't mess up my mouth forever. Thanks!
