But disapointing to see no mention, for example, of the importance of canine protected occlusion in minimising bruxing. And a pity they did not highlight the importance, especially if there are already signs/symptoms of TMD, of getting a
properly fitted nightguard - their bland statement that "one of the most effective ways to protect the teeth is to wear a mouthguard to keep the upper and lower teeth apart" could leave the reader thinking it's fine just to nip down to the shops and buy a boil and bite, but without proper fitting, this could exacerbate problems with the TMJ.
