    Wisdom teeth and braces

I still have all of my wisdom teeth and they don't give me too many problems. Once in a while, the wisdom tooth on the bottom left tends to "tear up" the side of my mouth, but other than that, they're okay. Can you get braces if you still have all your wisdom teeth? Thanks for any info!

If your wisdom tooth tears your mouth sometimes it’s better to get it removed. As if the tearing repeats your mouth may tend to develop infections. It’s absolutely ok to go for braces even after all your wisdom teeth are developed.

Yes, you can get braces with all wisdom teeth in place. Your ortho may recommend their removal or not.

I had 2 removed about 8 years ago because of infection. I still have 2 on one side and I had braces and the ortho said to leave them alone unless they, also, get infected. I've had braces and they're now off and my result is fantastic.

If they have to go, it's not that bad.
