Does the bite get worse before it gets better?

I've only had braces for a little over two weeks. My bite was good in the back, but my front top teeth need straightening (my canines need to be moved down and alighned). I don't have either an overbite or an underbite, but my bite feels really strange now. None of my teeth really "fit" together except, maybe, two on one side. So, is the bite supposed to get worse before the whole thing starts to improve?....Oh, yeah, and I only have the top braces for now. Maybe that's why my bite feels weird?

I think that it is going to feel weird just until you teeth finish adjusting and moving to the correct spot.

Hopefully it starts to get better soon. My orthodontist said I'd have to have braces for one year. I wonder if it'll take the whole year for my teeth to get straight.

Mine worked the same way. I do believe it does get worse before it gets better. Mostly it probably just has to do with the new formation of the teeth being so weird inside the mouth.
